WANING BLUE SUPER MOON

Blue moons occur when there are two full moons in a month.
Super moons occur when the moon is at a point closest to the earth in its course around its elliptical orbit
SUPER MOON
MARE
The dark patches on the moon are craters caused by the impacts of large asteroids. They were once thought to be seas and are called Mare, latin for seas.
ROTATION
The moon is in a synchronous rotation within its orbit around the earth. It means we only ever see the same side.
ORBIT
The moon orbits the earth once every 27 days. It orbits at an angle of about 5 degrees to the earth's orbit around the sun.
